The Purple Behemoth..... AKA The Seaside Villa.

Once upon a time in late spring or early summer.....(it seems so long ago I had to check the date stamp on my phone) about 2 months ago....wait it seems longer than that. Could it feel so long ago because everyday is like stinkin' ground hog day?

Sorry, I feel better now.  On with story. I came across an add in Offer-up which showed a picture of this house. I just about peed my pants! I live in Las Vegas, and this place is pretty much the dollhouse desert. Rare houses don't pop up everyday. (I can't call it the dollhouse desert any longer)

In all her purple glory there she was smiling at me....you know, a kind of toothless grin that makes you fall in love with a dirty faced kid? Then you just want to scrub its face and make it sparkle again!!

Isn't she cute with those missing teeth and purple lipstick? It makes me want to make her pretty again!

Isn't she cute? Don't you just want to scrub her down

and take her to the dentist for some new teeth?

I first consulted Emily Morganti about this house. I thought it was the Visalia. She has a lovely post on her blog about the house. She informed me it was the Seaside Villa due to the windows on the third floor. No matter, I was going to get this house.

After 2 trips, (my car was too small) I picked her up and drove away excited. I was dreaming and planning my color palette, and worrying that I wouldn't be able to remove the rest of the windows without damaging the siding....

I brought my girl home and set her right in the middle of the entry way.

                                                            Cali moved right in.

I have been working on her off and on between dolls and other "Ground Hog" activities....Like binge watching Breaking Bad ,which took a few days.

I finally got her off the floor and moved her over to my creative space. I had to move several unfinished projects and reorganize, but my girl is worth it! I will post some updated progress pics soon.

Stay sane everyone! I recommend watching Breaking Bad.  After watching it, I feel blessed to be semi normal!

    1. I have only built tab and slot houses, so this house in magnificent to me. Smooth walls that don't necessarily need wallpaper. Plus, my fur babies and future grand children can't destroy it in one swell swoop.

  3. It's a LOVELY house Carrie, and I love the way the rooms are two deep so the realism is increased by the visual depth. This should make the quarantine time fly by - happy times ahead!

    1. Hello Shannon,
I do have a grand vision....but it is a little foggy! I know I want it set in the 1900's.....

  5. Carrie - it is a great house, and lots of possibilities! I did one, its my Bed & Breakfast! I moved a wall and staircase but it wouldn't be a challenge if I didn't do some bashing, right?? Turns out I started a blog - https://minibednbreakfast.blogspot.com/ or you can view the photos in Flickr. I have 2 albums here - one for building and the other for decorating it...here's the latter if you are interested. https://www.flickr.com/photos/hnuttle/albums/429927

I will be watching yours come to life!
